Mentoring with unconditional love…

When I sought out to find a mentor, the Divine Universe provided me with an Earth Angel. Sister Eileen Curteis has not only mentored me as a Reiki Practitioner — she has become my spiritual mother.

I first met Eileen when I took my Reiki Masters Level at Queenswood Holistic Healing Centre. Laying eyes on her, I felt immediately drawn to her soft, gentle spirit. She beamed unconditional acceptance and love! Without even speaking at first, our eyes met and the warmth of Divine Love covered me.

Eileen was born and raised in Victoria, BC, and she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Ann in August 1961, at age nineteen. For 27 years, she was involved in education as an elementary teacher and also principal for eight years. She subsequently delved into the eastern healing art of Reiki as a Christian teacher and practitioner of it and continues in that healing ministry today. Eileen is also the producer of three films and seven CDs. As a point of interest, she is related to the Curteis family after whom Curteis Point takes its name near Sidney.

She treated and taught thousands of people over the last twenty-three years. After the closure of Queenswood Retreat and Spirituality Centre where she had worked for seventeen years, Eileen carried on the legacy of the former Queenswood by obtaining a fifteen year trademark for Queenswood School of Reiki. She then went on to establish, with the help of other dedicated women, Queenswood Holistic Healing and Spirituality Society.

Since our meeting and my Reiki training, my life began to take a new journey into healing myself while healing others. I felt I needed to draw on the wisdom of Sister Eileen when I was going through some darker times while letting go of parts of myself that were showing up to be released. She always opened her door, heart and healing hands to me and reminded me often, that she is just a phone call away. I never once felt judged. There were always words of wondrous truths that she channeled and shared from Divine Source! Her faith in God/Universe was unwavering — but so immensely personal and honest.

I feel so very honored and blessed to have her in my life and heart. She has taught me how to show up in this way for others who are looking for Spiritual and Energetic Coaching and HealingJUDGE-LESS and open to loving them where they are at, UNCONDITIONALLY. What a gift to humanity for those who are seeking the door to truth, love and compassion.

I will leave you with one of her beautiful poems written and shared with me recently. I hope it finds a place of truth and loving awareness in your heart as it has mine!

AUTHENTICALLY YOURS

A life is not a life

until you get gouged out

by it.

Don't pretty it up

with silk lining

when there's a tear

running through.

Just know:

People are people

and even a perfect garment

can show up

with sackcloth in it.

In a flustered world

we're like fingers in a glove

each of us pointing

in a different direction.

Complexity

is the garb we wear

so choose only

the clothes on the rack

that fit.

Dress yourself accordingly

and come out of the cupboard

wearing the outfit

authentically you.
